Survivor Support Case Manager (Spanish-speaking)

About This Position

The Survivor Support Case Manager will provide comprehensive case management services to foreign-born survivors of sex and labor trafficking and foreign-born youth at risk of exploitation. The Case Manager will provide trauma-informed, client-centered case management that connects clients to social services including healthcare, mental health services, education, immigration legal resources, housing, and other wraparound services. In addition, the Case Manager will provide services through Minnesota’s Safe Harbor network and lead a Spanish-speaking education group for youth focusing on sexuality, healthy relationships, and prevention of exploitation and trafficking.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to foreign-born trafficking survivors and at-risk youth including, but not limited to assessment, safety planning, resource coordination, transportation and providing informal emotional support.
  • Identify client strengths, collaboratively set goals, and help clients connect with resources to support them to accomplish their goals.
  • Organize and lead a Spanish-speaking education group for at-risk, Spanish-speaking youth focusing on sexuality, healthy relationships, and prevention of exploitation and trafficking.
  • Maintain case files and enter client information into program database(s)
  • Manage funds allotted per client and maintain/submit required documentation.
  • Participate in the maintenance and development of the programs through regular coordinator calls, service calls, and community outreach.
  • Attend monthly department meetings and bi-weekly program meetings.
  • Work with program manager to prepare and submit timely grant reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary range:
$50,000 – $54,000 (depending on experience)

Additonal Requirements

  • Commitment to the human rights and general welfare of refugees and immigrants
  • Bachelor of Social Work, equivalent degree in a related field, or at least 5 years of equivalent work experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience working with youth, particularly immigrant youth and/or child victims of crimes preferred.
  • Experience in victim services such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child welfare, and/or trafficking preferred.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of trauma and trauma-informed care
  • Knowledge of different systems (criminal justice systems, immigration and refugee systems, health, and human services) and how systems impact crime victims
  • Must be able to clearly communicate and work with various law enforcement entities and immigration professionals.
  • Experience with direct client services (i.e., case management or advocacy) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, take initiative, work independently, and prioritize multiple simultaneous needs.
  • Ability to manage and track client funds and maintain organized case files and documentation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and own car and be willing to transport clients in your vehicle.
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
